If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can sponsor eligible family members to become permanent residents of Canada.
Verify that you meet the sponsor requirements (age, status, income) and that your family member is eligible to be sponsored.
Submit both your sponsorship application and your family member's permanent residence application at the same time to IRCC.
Your family member will be required to provide biometrics and complete an immigration medical examination.
IRCC conducts security and criminal background checks on your family member as part of the admissibility assessment.
Once approved, your family member will receive their Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and can land in Canada.
Sponsor your spouse, common-law partner (12 months cohabitation), or conjugal partner. Processing takes approximately 12 months.
Sponsor your dependent children under 22 who are not married or in a common-law relationship. Biological, adopted, and step-children may qualify.
Apply through the annual PGP lottery to sponsor parents and grandparents. Super Visas are also available as a temporary alternative.
Our consultants guide you through every step of the family sponsorship process — from eligibility to landing.
