Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Alberta Opportunity Stream?
The Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) is for temporary foreign workers and international graduates already living and working in Alberta. Unlike most PNPs, it does not require an Express Entry profile. Applicants need a valid AB job offer, work experience in Alberta, language proficiency (CLB 5+), and an eligible NOC occupation.
Does Alberta have a tech immigration stream?
Yes. The AAIP Tech Occupation Stream targets software developers, data scientists, cloud architects, and other TEER 1–2 tech workers. Unlike BC's tech pilot, some Alberta tech draws do not require a job offer — candidates can apply based on education, language, and work experience alone. Draws are periodic and competitive.
