A study permit allows international students to pursue education at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada. Graduates can transition to a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and ultimately permanent residence.

Eligibility requirements
- Acceptance letter from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
- Proof of sufficient funds (tuition + CAD 10,000 per year for living expenses)
- No criminal record; police certificate may be required
- Medical exam if your country is on the required list
- Proof you will leave Canada after your studies (unless applying for PR)

Can I work while studying in Canada?+

After graduating from an eligible Canadian DLI, you can apply for a PGWP that lets you work for any employer in Canada. Duration depends on your program length — up to 3 years for programs of 2+ years.
